One of the oldest parks in Las Vegas, the place does show its age a bit with its metal playground equipment but the kids love it. A popular feature is the fishing pond, which although sometimes algae-covered, is accessible year-round and stocked with rainbow trout in winter and catfish in summer. The pond limit is three fish per day. This park is also home to the Nevada State Museum and Historical Society, a great learning experience for all ages. There are barbeque facilities and bathrooms. The park is more of a place for relaxation than active exercise but adventurous types can go for a swim. Admission to the park is free.
