This 5,000 square foot hands-on museum is the perfect place for children up 10 years old to have a lot of fun. Originally opened in 1994 as a small museum in the basement of a local school, they moved to their present location in 2000. Kids are encouraged to touch the exhibits, as the museum's philosophy is that play is essential for learning. Children can play with food while planting a garden and selling vegetables from a farm stand. They can learn about different cultures and visit places like Mexico and the Netherlands. Budding Frank Lloyd Wrights can try their hand at designing and building houses. There are special programs for school groups and scouts; a party room is available for birthdays. Admission price is USD5 per person, but children under the age of 1 are free. - Christine A. Smyczynski
