British Columbia

British Columbia is the westernmost of Canada's provinces and is famed for its natural beauty. Given its varied mountainous terrain and its coasts, lakes, rivers, and forests, British Columbia has long been enjoyed for pursuits like hiking and camping, rock climbing and mountaineering, hunting and fishing. Water sports such as sea kayaking, whitewater rafting, sailing, and sailboarding are also enjoyed in many places. And, in the winter time, cross-country, telemark, and downhill skiing are all very popular in the mountains. Snowboarding has also been gaining popularity. And, the 2010 Winter Olympics will be held here.
