Finland

The country is thoroughly modern with well-planned and comfortable small towns and cities, but still offers vast areas of unspoiled nature. In the northernmost part of the country, the Northern Lights can be seen in the winter and midnight sun in the summer. Throughout Finland's prehistory and history, cultural contacts and influences have concurrently, or at varying times, come from all directions. As a result of 600 years of Swedish rule, Swedish cultural influences are still notable. Today, cultural influences from North America are prominent.
