Gary Danko's is a must taste!  I ordered a 5 course menu, there were some dishes I loved and others that I thought were only okay. Overall, it was an experience-from the delicious fresh ingredients, to the balance of all the complementing ingredients, and the superb service.  I would definitely go back for another special occasion!   

great restaurant, def top 10 in SF.  a bit on the pricey side, but comparable to other high end restaurants (~ $100/person) for a full meal

Gary Danko Restaurant is one of those restaurants that you keep hearing about. It is known for its incredible quality of food and a level of service that can't be matched. So, when we decided to try it out for ourselves, we had already read and heard about Gary Danko restaurant from many many sources.

We were intrigued and ready to see what the big fuss was all about. So, we made reservations at Gary Danko months ahead of time. After about two months of waiting, we were ready to try it. We went for the largest option available and picked several different dishes and... well, the food at Gary Danko was definitely good. Really good in fact. The service was as good as advertised. But, you know that credit card commercial where the couple waits for months and then sits down at a fancy restaurant only to see the tiny food on their plate? That's how we felt. I will admit that several dishes just blew us away. I can't remember all the names. But, at the end of the day, I was still hungry. So, that prevents me from giving Gary Danko restaurant more more stars.
