Day 1 - Friday April 18, 2008
I LOVE San Diego: the weather, the shopping, the food, the aquatic animals, the U.S./Mexican border, everything! So it was very awesome when my friends, cousins, sister, and I went there for my cousin Alli's birthday. We left LA at around 8 AM and arrived in SD just as Seaworld was about to open. First show we watched was the dolphin show. We may not be kids anymore, but those dolphins were still hella cool. And I think I got fooled when that lady "from the audience" fell into the water.
Afterwards, we went to the Arctic Circle to see the polar bears.

Here's Marc with a really large (albeit fake) polar bear. Do Not Touch, Marc.

I don't know what these things are, maybe a cross between killer whales and seals (what an odd, if not impossible, combination).
We went to watch the Shamu show, but I've seen better, so I didn't get any pics of that. I did however, carry a starfish. Sucky little things, literally.

Perhaps my favorite activity of the day was when we fed the dolphins. They're very needy, like dogs, but very adorable, too.

(Ah, what dolphins do for food)
And, you can't end your stay at Seaworld without sitting on Shamu, right?

After our awesome day at Seaworld, we went to go search for our hotel. It was supposedly half a mile from Seaworld, but we spent the next hour and half searching for it. This was when gas didn't cost your soul, so it was a pretty funny joy ride around the ghetto part of SD.
We also made it a point to visit Extraordinary Desserts, which my cousin heard from in Food Network. It was, like, 10 AM when we came in so there was barely anyone there. We got those famous (and famously expensive) desserts. Oh so tasty.

My cousin Alli, with a ginormous piece of chocolate cake

The cake almost finished. I think I ate the petals too. I mean, if you pay $12 for a slice of cake, you damn well better get your money's worth, right?
After splurging on decadent desserts, we headed to another decadent part of SD... La Jolla baby!
Of course, I can't afford anything there, so we just window-shopped and went to the beach.

Methinks we saw some seals.
And those were some highlights of our SD trip. Now you stay classy, San Diego.
