Day 1 - Tuesday January 1, 2008

Flight

We flew on Virgin America to Las Vegas. They had great deals with tons of cheap flights to Vegas. It was the best airline experience I have had in a long time. Every seat has a personal screen where you can watch music videos or TV. You can play video games or create music playlists. You can also chat with other people in other seats. The staff was very friendly, too!

South Point

We stayed at the South Point hotel. Although it is not located on the strip, it was a nice hotel. The rooms were comfortable. They had a shuttle running from the hotel to the strip, which was convenient. Without the shuttle, I would not recommend South Point. It turned out to be a fun place to stay, as they were hosting the World Series of Beer Pong. There were tons of friendly, young people hanging around the hotel because they were competing.

We ate dinner at a fast place in the South Point. They had good buffalo wings!

Luxor

That night, we went to the stip and wandered around a bit. We ended up checking out the Luxor and walking around inside. It looked like a fun place to stay!

Day 2 - Wednesday January 2, 2008

Brunch

We ate at a brunch buffet at the Roundtable in Excalibur Hotel. They gave a lot of food for the price, althought the food wasn't anything too special. It was fast and efficient, though.

Treasure Island

In the afternoon we went to the Pirate Battle at Treasure Island. It was free and really fun! It was a live action show performed outside. I would highly recommend this!

The Producers

At night, we grabbed a quick dinner of soup and salads at the Paris Hotel. We had tickets to see the show, The Producers. The show starred Tony Danza. It was very entertaining and I enjoyed seeing Tony Danza perform. Although I had fun, there are plenty of other shows in Vegas that I would probabliy have liked better. We didn't have great seats but it ended up not being packed so we moved down to the 5th row!

Bellagio

After the show, we ended up seeing the Fountain Show at the Bellagio. It was free and I recommend checking it out! It is romantic and entertaining.

Day 3 - Thursday January 3, 2008

Lion Habitat

We went to the MGM Grand for lunch and to check out the Lion Habitat. Unfortunately, it was under construction. I was disappointed! Instead, we just walked around the hotel.

New York-New York

We made our way to New York-New York because I wanted to ride the roller coaster. I really enjoyed the trip to Vegas but I didn't realize how difficult it was to get around. Everything on the strip is pretty spread out. It is far to walk and can be expensive to take a taxi. Luckily, some of the hotels are connected by a rail system. However, I would recommend not wearing very high heels--I made that mistake and learned quickly that it was smarter to wear comfortable shoes to walk around in.

Dinner

We went to dinner at Il Fornaio in New York-New York. It had great Italian food and I really enjoyed the meal. It was also reasonably priced.
